Get ready to lace up your boots and join the excitement at Gymea United Football Club Academy! Designed for budding football stars aged 10-18, our academy offers a blend of introductory general and specialized goalkeeper training courses. Whether you’re looking to hone your all-around skills or dive into the art of goalkeeping, our experienced coaches are here to guide you every step of the way.
GUFC FOOTBALL ACADEMY – TERM 2
The program runs for 10 weeks starting Friday 3rd of May and will be run by renowned football coach Steve Gordon!
Steve has a stellar resume with experience developing talent at all ages most recently he has coached the Sutherland Sharks 1st grade NPL1 Men’s and U20s Men’s teams and is the current Head Coach for the 1st grade Illawarra Stingray NPL1 Women’s team.
- Striking the ball: this includes all forms of striking the ball such as short/long passing, shooting and crossing
- First Touch: controlling the ball with all allowed body parts
- 1v1: all moves, feints and accelerations to get past and away from an opponent
- Running with the ball: at speed (with a lot of space) or ‘dribbling’ (in tight areas), this includes techniques for protecting the ball and changing direction.

GUFC GOALKEEPER TRAINING – TERM 2
The Goalkeeper program set to commence on Friday 3rd of June for players 10 years to 18 years old. The program will run for 6-8 weeks.
The Goalkeeper program will operate in conjunction with our GUFC Academy and will be run by Amy Hall, Goalkeeper for Western Sydney Wanderers and former young Matilda!
Learn fundamentals of Goal Keeping and enhance your existing skills.
Kids that are attending must bring a water bottle, gloves and shin pads.
