2023 was a historical year for Gymea United Football Club. It appointed its first Women’s Football Director to oversee the growth and promotion of women’s football at GUFC.

Female football made up almost 40% of all registrations at Gymea United Football club in 2023 which is an increase of 10% since 2020!  Our youngest female players at the club were supported by the Intro to Football program and the club’s female teams enjoyed success at all levels of competition including having an unprecedented two teams compete in the Shire Premier League Women’s Competition, and multiple teams achieving Minor Premierships with the SWB1’s and W18C’s taking the title in their respective competitions.

Bailey Gifford  (SPLW2) – Shire Premier League

Melody Nelson (SPLW1) – Shire Premier League

The success of the Matildas at the 2023 World Cup has reignited the passion and interest in our game and Gymea United Soccer Club is perfectly positioned to support all of our female teams to foster future abilities, build confidence and skills and represent our club with pride. Football Australia awarded Gymea Soccer club with a Club Changer certificate of achievement at the end of 2023. This award recognises our commitment and dedication to the development of Women and Girls Football.

   W18C’s – Season 2023 Champions

Our goal is to continuously demonstrate our commitment to the Club Changer program as we support the growth and retention of female football, improve the quality of the participation experience and maintain positive playing environments for all our female members at GUFC.
