It is with great pride and gratitude that I present the 2025 President’s report for Gymea United Football Club. This year our teams have demonstrated outstanding commitment and sportsmanship throughout the season that continues to shape our amazing club.

On the field, Season 2025 was one of the most successful we have had in quite a few years. In total we had a total of 32 semi-finalists, of which 5 were minor premiers, 16 grand finalists, and 9 premiers.

Unfortunately, we had our battles with the weather again this season and lost a few rounds both for Saturday and Sunday teams.

This year GUFC had 1594 registered players, making up 132 teams.

As a club we again supported Pancreatic Cancer and had most of our teams “playing in Purple”. This is a great initiative where our members play in Purple Socks over a two-week period, whilst helping to raise money for a great cause.

GUFC fields teams in almost all SSFA groups and divisions including:

  • U6, U7, U8, U9, U10, U11 & U12 Age Groups (Boys & Girls Combined)
  • U13, U14, U15, U16, U18 & U21 Age Groups for Young Men
  • Women (W), including W12, W13, W14, W15, W16, W18 & W21
  • Senior Women (SW), including All-Age Divisions & Over 40’s
  • Senior Men including All-Age Divisions, Over 35’s & Over 45’s

At GUFC we take pride of all our team’s efforts and enjoy watching our players have fun whilst they develop their skills and reach their highest potential in football. We share their love of football and celebrate their achievements in 2025.
Congratulations to the following teams for their consistent high-performance throughout the season to achieve the following:

Our recipient of Giant of the Year, an annual award given to a committee person, voted by our committee was Michelle Nagy. Michelle has made a significant contribution to our communication role over the past 5 years, Michelle’s efforts and dedication have been absolutely amazing for the club: thank you, Michelle.

This year, my President’s Award for outstanding effort by a volunteer, was given to Tegan Yasserie, a valued member of our committee. Tegan has been on the committee for the past 5 years and helps everyone. Tegan is also the person who organises our Junior Presentation every year. Her dedication and love for this sport is shown through everything she does. Thank you, Tegan.

Gymea United Football Club would also like to thank committee members who are standing down: Doug Sparks (Life Member), Gary Rigney (Life Member), Natalie Blacker, Michelle Nagy, Brooke Spindler, Tom Riordan, and Tom Wright. The dedication and effort you have shown towards the club has been amazing. The club wishes you all the best with whatever you do in the future.

GUFC is totally operated by volunteers consisting of the committee, coaches, managers, parents, family members and other stakeholders. We exist, run and flourish due to their planning, dedication, and self-less and tireless efforts.

We thank each and every one of our volunteers who make “everything happen” each week.
We would like to express our gratitude to our Sponsors for their steadfast commitment and support of GUFC throughout the 2025 season.
We also thank the SSFA. The support from Jeff, Laura, Kim, and all the girls is truly amazing.
Lastly, we thank the Referees, Council and other Clubs for ensuring players enjoyed football during the 2025 season.
We wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and a wonderful summer.
