GYMEA UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB 2018
Gymea United Football Club (GUFC) is a family-oriented, friendly, safe and supportive club that ensures everyone, young and old, experience, enjoy and benefit from the great game of football.GUFC has teams for people of diverse ages and levels of experience from beginners to talented players. The club is committed to supporting players develop their football and life skills enabling them to achieve their goals.
We take pride of all our team’s efforts and celebrate their remarkable achievements during the 2018 season.
GUFC continues its success in attracting 1577 registered players, making up 132 teams.
This makes GUFC one of the largest Junior Football Clubs in the SSFA, and Australia.GUFC fields teams in practically all of the SSFA groups and divisions including:
U6, U7, U8, U9, U10, U11 & U12 Age Groups (Boys & Girls Combined)
U13, U14, U15, U16, U18 & U21 Age Groups For Young Men
Junior Women (JW), including JW12, JW14, JW16, JW18 & JW21
Senior Women (SW), including All-Age Divisions & Over 30’s
Senior Men including All-Age Divisions, Over 35’s & Over 45’s
GUFC has a remarkable female participation at all levels of the game.The club has over 519 registered female players in 39 teams.

2018 Premiers: 14A, JW14D, 15A, 18A
2018 Runners Up: 12B, 13B, 16A, 18B, W18A, AL6, AL8/2, AL10, 35D, 45D, SWF and SWG/1
GUFC entered 10 teams into the prestigious State, Robertson & Bill Cullinan Cup Competitions: 12A, 14A, 15A, 16A, 18A, 21A/1, 21A/2, JW14A, JW16A/1 and JW18A.
Massive Congratulations to JW16A/1 for their convincing win of the NSW State Cup 2018.They displayed proficient football skills and exceptional teamwork. Bravo to everyone who contributed and were involved with their successful campaign throughout the season. They are now the State Cup Champions, Premiers and Minor Premiers making them the Number One 16-Year Old Female Team in NSW in 2018.
Huge Congratulations to GUFC's JW14A and JW16A/1 teams for qualifying for Football NSW Champion of Champions (CofC) 2018. The NSW State Champions JW16A/1 bowed out on the Second Round of the tournament.
In contrast, JW14A progresses into the Third Round of CofC scheduled on the 7th of October. We encourage the community to support JW14A and help see them through to the Semi-Finals and onto the Finals in late October.
Congratulations to JW12B and 16B for being awarded the Most Improved Teams for 2018 by The Sutherland Shire Football Association (SSFA).
Immense Congratulations to GUFC's Executive Committee Member, Mark Hildebrandt, who was awarded the prestigious Merit Award by the Sutherland Shire Football Association for his passion and remarkable contribution to the game. Mark held several senior positions on the GUFC Executive Committee for the past eleven years including Vice President, Senior Registrar, Head Coach, Grading Coordinator and MiniRoos Referee Coordinator.
Great Congratulations to life member Daryl Clark and his sub committee, for successfully obtaining an Asia Cup Legacy Grant to the amount of $110 Thousand. The grant will be utilised in the extension of the existing clubhouse to provide a dedicated space for the club’s operational needs.
GUFC is operated entirely by volunteers consisting of the committee, coaches, managers, parents, family members and other stakeholders. The Club’s existence and smooth operation is due to their commitment, planning, administration and industrious efforts.We thank each and every one of our volunteers who diligently ensure “everything occurs” per plan, every week during the entire season.
