The 2019 Sutherland Shire Football Association (SSFA) season is nearing completion – with the Finals series almost upon us.
Competition teams placed in the first four positions of their table will compete in the Sutherland Shire Football Association’s (SSFA) Finals Series.
Over the weekend of 10th and 11th August, fourth placed teams will be drawn against third placed teams (3 v 4) and second placed teams will be drawn to play minor premiers (1 v 2) in the Semi-final of each competition.
The subsequent week has been reserved for Finals (17th and 18th August) and the following week after that (24th and 25th August) has been reserved for Grand Finals. (Note that the weekend of 30th August and 1st September are spares days that may be used in the event that a Semi final, final or grand final day is washed out).
Accordingly, the SSFA Executive Committee (EC) are presently reviewing all grounds and will determine the most appropriate/ suitable fields for Hosting relevant Finals and Grand Finals. Notification of Grounds that are to be used will be provided subsequent to the review being completed (the decision to utilise a ground is subject to change at short notice and may depend upon the ongoing condition of the ground, safety concerns, or any other reason
deemed appropriate by the EC).
The majority of Clubs have previously advised that they wish to host Semi Finals at their grounds if a team is successful in gaining the Minor Premiership.
The semi final draw, including teams that are involved in each grade, will be published mid week after Round 18, the Semi Finals and Finals respectively (refer the ‘fixtures’ tab after publication).
The draw is subject to adjustment ONLY for inclement weather or field conditions. NO requests to otherwise move
games will be considered.
