GUFC received this email from an opposing team. Well done to the GUFC player.

"I would just like to take the time to acknowledge an incident of good sportsmanship shown by the Gymea United U14 goalkeeper in a State Cup game between his team and Gladesville Ravens on the weekend.

This young man showed wonderful sportsmanship when my son was accidentally injured after scoring a goal. The Gymea goalie asked my son if he was OK and stayed with him until our coach could take the field and check he was right to play on.

All too often you hear negative reports of kids soccer and we never got to thank the goalie for his kind actions after the game. Please pass on our gratitude to him. Not only was he an exceptional player but he also displayed fine sportsmanship.
