Grading complete - what's next?

GUFC grading for the 2012 season is now complete.

Huge thank you to our grading panel for all their hard work over the past few weeks. They've given up countless nights and weekends to organise around hundreds and hundreds of players into teams - not an easy job and you're efforts are appreciated.

So what's next?

PLAYERS

Now you’ve been graded…..

  • Swap details: hopefully at the end of grading, you swapped contact details with your team coach/manager. If you unsure what team you are in, email:
  • Arrange a training time: it’s up to teams to organise their training. Your team coach/manager will coordinate this (see more overleaf). Teams can start training on Gymea Bay Oval after 12 March (use of the Oval is not allowed before this).
  • Gala day and trial games: there will be a Small-Sided Football gala day 17 March and trial games organised during March. Watch www.gufc.com.au for details. Your team coach/manager should also confirm details.
  • Get ready for round 1: the competition kicks off 24 and 25 March 2012.
  • Keep up-to-date: please keep yourself up-to-date during the season. Here’s how:

COACHES AND MANAGERS

Been handed the job of coach or manager for 2012? Firstly, THANK YOU for getting involved! Here’s what you need to do straight away……

Contact details – you will get a team sheet at grading (u8 and over) with one phone number on it for each player. Hopefully you were able to exchange more detailed contacts from players – home phone, mobile and email addresses – at grading.

Get in touch with team members not at grading - if someone in your team isn’t present at grading, please call them within a few days to touch base.  If the ph number on the team sheet is incorrect, email registrar@gufc.com.au

Arrange training – discuss a suitable training time with the team, then check with GUFC if this time is available. Contact Michael Leitch ph 0438 325 248
Email: michael.leitch@baesystems.com
u6 and u7 training; u6 and u7 all train together Tuesday’s 4.30-5.30pm. This creates a fun and supportive environment for the players and coaches.

Attend the coach and manager meeting - Mon 5 March at Gymea Bay Oval Hall. It’s essential at least one person from each team attends.
u6-u11 - 6.45pm
u12 and over - 8pm
You will be provided with the GUFC Coach and Manager Guide at the meeting.

Contact your team – touch base with your team ASAP. Encourage them to visit www.gufc.com.au for info and to sign up to the weekly e-newsletter from GUFC.

Gala day and trial games – advise your team of gala day and trial games details once GUFC confirms the details with you via email and/or www.gufc.com.au

Make sure GUFC has your correct contact info – we’ll collect coach/manager details at grading. If your details change or you don’t get weekly emails from us, let Anthony Severino know anthonyseverino@optusnet.com.au
