Give Blood - every donation can save up to three lives

Sutherland Shire Football Associarion clubs are encouraging players, families and friends to get behind a good cause this season.

All members of the football community are encouraged to Give Blood and help save lives.

The Shire Blood Donor Centre at Miranda will keep a 'friendly tally' during the season of the football club visiting blood donors come from. Updates will be provided back to clubs throughout the season.

So c'mon Gymea United players, families and friends - Give Blood and show the Shire what a generous club and community we really are.

The Australian Red Cross Blood Service is the organisation responsible for providing the Australian community with safe, high quality blood and blood products. We do this with the support of more than half a million voluntary blood donors.

These blood donations help those battling cancer, heart disease, accidents and complications during pregnancy and childbirth.

One in 3 people will require a blood transfusion at some time in their lives and yet currently only 1 in 30 people donate.

The Shire Blood Donor Centre at Miranda is responsible for collecting 13 000 blood donations every year.
